Hello, My name is Aliona, I'm 36 years old, and I am the mother of a five-year-old boy. Ten years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a disease that kills the cells, thereby destroying my body. This diagnosis ended all my dreams.
I graduated two faculties: Alecu Russo State University from Balti, the Faculty of Music Pedagogy 1997-2002 and the European University of Moldova, the Faculty of Law, specialty - Criminal Law from 2004 to 2008 (in absentia). At the same time, I worked in the prosecutor's office and wanted to become a prosecutor, but in 2007, when I was 27 years old, I learned about my illness and my career ended. I worked for seven years in the prosecutor's offices in the towns of Balti and Chisinau.
In the early years, I did not understand the seriousness of the illness, I went to therapy and I was feeling quite well. I got married at age 31 and told my husband about my illness, and assured me that everything will be fine and we will manage this. When I became pregnant he supported me in every way, even if the doctors recommended an abortion, because the child will be born sick. Only one doctor advised me to keep the child. I did all the necessary research to be sure that I have a healthy baby and as a result I gave birth to an absolutely healthy boy. Unfortunately, after the birth of my child, my condition started to worsen day by day. Not I often see the negative consequences of this disease, I'm more and more dependent on others, I can not walk without help, can not go down/ climb the stairs, my hands do not listen to me anymore, but the worst is that I can not take care of my boy who needs me so much. I can not go to his matinees, can not go out for a walk or to play with him.
Recently I received very encouraging news: in the Pokrovsky Institute (city of St. Petersburg), there is a treatment for me on the basis of stem cells that can stop the progression of the disease and help me recover. But in addition to the good news there are also bad ones - the cost of treatment represents a huge amount for our family - $12000.
