Aliona Stoian was born in 1989 and she suffers from diagnosis "Spinocerebellar ataxia of second type" (SCA2). Her disease is manifested in violation of body balance, coordination and body movements disorders, speech disorders due to paralysis of the tongue. These symptoms make people often mistake Aliona for an alcoholic or drug addict, which greatly complicates the life of the young girl.
Aliona is an orphan, her mother died in 2008 and she never knew her father. She lives alone in a small room, which she got from her mother. Aliona has an elderly grandmother who lives outside the city and sometimes helps her.
Aliona has to take a series of rare and expensive drugs, some of which can be bought only in Russia. These drugs cost a lot of money.
The main difficulty for Aliona is in the fact that she can not move and walk firmly even at home. She cannot use public transportation, and even when she goes to a store she requires to be accompanied.
