A message from her daughter:
I’m at a loss for words, because there are times when words simply fail to describe the pain. My name is Ana, and my mother is currently fighting for her life thousands of miles away from home. What was meant to be a short, restful trip to Egypt turned into a nightmare in a heartbeat. A devastating stroke has left her paralyzed on her right side; she can’t speak, and she can’t do anything for herself.
She is lying in a foreign hospital surrounded by strangers. She’s completely alone—no family, no loved ones, not a single familiar face to comfort her. It breaks my heart to think that the woman who was my entire world and my constant support is now helpless, while I’m stuck here, unable to even reach her. The hospital is already discussing her discharge, but she’s still in critical condition. She needs round-the-clock medical care, but more than anything, she needs to be HOME.
My only goal is to get her back. To be at her side, to hold her hand, and to tell her over and over that she isn’t alone. But the cost of a medical flight back to Moldova is astronomical—it’s a sum our family just doesn’t have.
With a broken heart, I’m begging for your help. I’m not writing to you as strangers, but as people who know the agony of watching a parent suffer and feeling completely powerless to help. Please, help us bring her home. Every donation, every share, is a chance for my mother to be with us again.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I pray that we don’t have to face this tragedy alone.
