Dear friend,
My name is Olga Botnaru, I am from Chișinău, Republic of Moldova and I write these lines in a spirit of prayer. I will be profoundly grateful if you read until the end this letter with the hope to get some help for my dad.
In 2014, on the 29th of October, my dad, Petru Botnaru was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. For 6 months he underwent chemotherapy, but the doctors did not give him any chance of life. Here we are, 2 years after this sad news and I thank God that my dad is alive. How is it possible? After a while, I understood the great plan of God.
When I was a child, I had a big wish and prayer for my dad. I was supplicating for him, that he would know and accept Jesus Christ in his life as God and Saviour. In the moment he was diagnosed with this heavy illness, it was very difficult for me to believe that my dad would repent, and I was thinking that I would lose him forever. I thought, “How can he see the love of God and believe in Him being in the middle of suffering?” However, his illness made me pray much more for him. Simply, I started to fight for him in my prayers where I was telling God that I could not let my dad leave this life without knowing Him.
Two years ago I invited my dad to a family Bible study group and, surprisingly, he accepted my invitation; however, after that he did not want to continue coming to church or Bible study. In the fall of 2016, his condition suddenly worsened. in October, he was hospitalized. I did not know what to wait for and what to do. Praying, God sent me a thought from Matthew 25:36: “I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Then, I decided to contact the Bible study group’s leader at which my dad had been two years earlier. I called him and asked to visit my dad at the hospital.
After this, the group’s leader came to our house and prayed for dad’s healing. That evening, my dad repented through the belief in Jesus Christ! In response, in December 2016, my dad was baptised. Therefore, God answered my prayers and my dad became a child of God! Now, he is coming regularly to each church’s service and Bible study group. Unfortunately, his condition is still bad. Even if he is feeling bad, the wish to discover God is much bigger than his physical disability.
My dad is 63 years old. He adopted me with his love and care when I was 4 years old and I am enormously thankful for this. Looking in the past, I see the great work of God and I believe that He continues to work. I wish to do everything that is possible for the condition of my father to get better and finally to be healed. I contacted a hospital from Turkey who has offered necessary treatment for my father that he will not find or receive in Moldova. The first step is a consultation to determine and establish the correct treatment for him. This consultation is approximately $5000 (this amount includes transportation, accommodation and consultation). We will know the necessary final sum for the treatment after the consultation. We just know that it can be approximately $20,000 (transportation, accommodation and treatment). For the moment, the state of my dad is critical and the doctors from Chișinău can't slow down the progress of the illness. I chose to trust that God can do much more than we ask or think. This amount of money is very big for my family. That is why I ask you to support us in prayer and, as it is possible – financially.
