Center for temporary placement of children at risk "Drumul spre Casă" (The Way Home) is a specialized state agency of social profile that provides temporary care for children and young people who are in difficult situations. The center works in a NON-STOPregime since June 2003.

The maximum period of placement of beneficiaries in the Center shall not exceed 12 months.

The maximum capacity of the center is 40 beneficiaries:

Program I: 1-30 children.
Program II: 2-10 children.

The beneficiaries of the center may be:

Program I

• Children between 7-18 years old, temporarily or permanently separated from their mother and who are in a difficult situation;
• Children at risk;
• Orphan children or children without parental care;
• Children whose biological parents can not provide them with required needs;
• Children whose safety, as well as physical and mental integrity in their living environment are under threat;
• Children who are in need of tutelage, in case where it is impossible to establish;
• Children redirected from the center of urgent reception "Evrika", which requires placement.

Program II
Teenagers and young adults aged between 16-23 years old, who are orphans in difficult situations, as well as graduates, students (with no financial resources and no living space).

The services of the center is available only to children from Balti, and from villages Sadovoe and Elizaveta.

Children/ adolescents can not be placed in the Center in the following cases:

• have serious symptoms of mental illness;
• had an alcohol and drugs intoxication;
• minors who have committed crimes.

The objectives of the Center:

• temporary protection of children in difficult situations, their integration into their biological families or families that adopted them.
• Social and professional integration of adolescents and young people aged up to 18 years in accordance with the requirements of the law.

The center offers the follwing services:

1. Temporary accommodation/ shelter, care and protection;
2. medical examination;
3. Providing of food, clothing, household goods, hygiene products and school supplies;
4. Pedagogical and educational assistance with homework, cooperation with educational institutions;
5. Legal assistance in matters of security and the protection of legitimate rights and social security, property and finances;
6. Activities aimed at developing the child's ability to be independent in his daily live;
7. Support and development of cognitive abilities and emotional development of the child's personality, communication skills and integration in public life at the cultural level;
8. Systematic monitoring and assessment of child development;
9. Pedagogical and psychological counseling and support for the child's family;
10. Search of close and distant relatives, to establish connections and relationships.

Center for Temporary Placement "Drumul spre Casă" is in dire need of a sports/playground for children.

Also, the Centre requires a protective ground covering for children to have the opportunity to play sports in open air.
