Hello, I am Antonina's mom, she is 11 years old and for all these years she never heard her mother's voice. Due to improper treatment when she was 5 months old, she has a serious a hearing problem. When we learned that our daughter would never hear, for us, the parents, it was a real shock. She received prosthetic hearing aids, but with them she can only hear very loud sounds, not voice or conversations. The only thing that can save her is a cochlear implant, which costs a huge amount of money.
Antonina is a smart girl, and if earlier, she still thought that when she grew up, she would hear, now she knows that she will never hear without an implant. Shepermanently asks us about this implant, she wants to hear her younger sister, who has just started talking. My heart breaks every time she asks me: “Mom, what did Loredana say? Mom, I want to talk to her”. Our incomes are very modest, but we really want this long awaited dream to come true.
