During the Christmas campaign there are cases that hurt, cases that we could never forget. There are times when I have thousands of questions and I cannot find an answer to a simple one, why do these children suffer? Yesterday, in the village of Plop, we found a little boy who works as an adult, taking care of his younger brother and sister. What I saw, was impossible to forget, and when I came home yesterday, I started to cry for this boy, his brother and sister, because they are so innocent and life was so unfair to them. I have not seen such a sad family for a long time; they have so many problems and difficulties and simply forgot what a happy childhood is. Dear friends, today, before the holidays, I have a huge request: let's make a miracle for these kids. We visited them for only a few minutes and started to freeze, but imagine how they have been living here for several winters in a row, working and collecting firewood in order to survive another winter. Their own house, with heating, with all the necessary conditions, would be a real miracle, and the winter holidays would become truly magical. I am sure that these wonderful children will be incredibly happy and will regain the confidence that childhood may look different: there will be no cold beds, no blanket in the door, no sadness and no worries. Let's help them feel what true childhood is, let's show them that Christmas miracles exist, that they can believe in the power and kindness of people around them.
