A message from his mother:

Hello. I never thought I would have to write these lines. No mom is ready for the day when she needs to ask for help to save her child. This is my little boy, Daniil.

When I held him in my arms for the first time, I imagined how he would grow up, how he would take his first steps, how he would say 'mama' to me and learn about this world with his curious, bright little eyes. But our life turned in a completely different direction… Daniil has been fighting since birth. He fights a severe illness, hospitals, surgeries, treatment, and pain that no child should ever have to feel. And I fight along with him. Every night I look at him sleeping, and I want to stop time, press him to myself, and protect him from everything that causes him pain. But I am helpless… because there are things that a mother's love cannot defeat alone.

The most terrifying thing is to see your child suffer and to have no way to ease his pain. It is incredibly hard to smile at him when your own heart is breaking into pieces.

Today, from the bottom of my heart I beg you to help us. I write these message with tears in my eyes and a broken heart. Doctors gave us a chance for treatment in Israel — a real chance at life for my child. But this amount is simply beyond our strength. That is why I ask you from the bottom of my heart, as a mom. Not for myself, for Daniil. For this baby who doesn't even understand why he has to fight so hard for his life. Please, help me save my son. Because there is no greater pain in the world than to see your child fighting for life and to know that you cannot help him.
