A message from her mother:

Dear friends, many of you may remember me. Not long ago, I reached out for help when my two daughters were fighting Moyamoya disease. Thanks to your incredible generosity, they were given a second chance at life. I thank God every day for the people who stood by us then.

I never imagined I would be in this position again, or that this same cruel illness would strike my family a second time.

Today, I am writing to you for my youngest, Maria. She is only five. She is the light of my home, so full of life, yet I live every second in a state of absolute terror. She has just been diagnosed with the same devastating condition: Moyamoya disease.

It is a rare, life-threatening disorder that affects the brain’s blood vessels and can cause a stroke at any second. My life has become a constant, agonizing wait. Every time I tuck her into bed, I pray that I will see her wake up the next morning. When she calls out "Mommy," I am haunted by the fear of how much time we might have left. There is no pain deeper than knowing your child is in immediate danger and realizing that no matter how much you love them, you cannot save them on your own.

I am coming to you with all the faith I have left. Please, help me save my little girl. Help her grow up. Help her have the childhood she deserves. You were my family’s guardian angels once before, and I am pleading with you to be there for us one more time.

Thank you for your kindness, for never turning a blind eye, and for answering a mother’s call with such love and support.
