A message from her mother:

A cry for help for Gabriela: our 15-year-old hero, who is desperately fighting to get her childhood back after a severe stroke. I am writing to you today not just as a mother with a broken heart, but as a mother who refuses to lose hope. My name is Angela Ceapa, and I beg you to help my daughter. Gabriela is still just a teenager, she is only 15, but she has already found herself face-to-face with a brutal struggle for survival.

Everything changed in an instant. In the summer of 2023, Gabriela suffered a massive stroke. The cause was a hidden congenital condition—an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the left cerebellar hemisphere. My daughter was rushed to the Chisinau Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (formerly the Diomid Gherman / Corolenco Hospital). She underwent a highly complex surgery to remove the malformation, followed by further surgeries, the insertion of an external ventricular shunt, and endless, terrifying days in intensive care. She was on a ventilator, right on the edge between life and death.

The doctors worked a miracle and saved Gabriela, but the road back to her old life has proven to be long, agonizing, and incredibly expensive.

Right now, my daughter has a complex, severe diagnosis: perilesional edema, debilitating cephalalgic syndrome, and cerebellar ataxia. This means that continuous, intensive neurological and physical rehabilitation is vital for her. She needs constant sessions with specialists, physiotherapy, medication, and regular follow-up exams. Without this recovery, Gabriela risks being left permanently disabled with severe complications.

There are three children in our family. We are ordinary people, we love our children immensely, but right now we have officially reached a financial breaking point. Gabriela needs round-the-clock care, I simply cannot go to work, and my husband's salary is catastrophically insufficient to pay for the endless treatment, rehabilitation, and daily medical expenses. We can no longer cope on our own. We cannot get through this without help.

Every single day is precious for our daughter. She wants so badly to go back to school, to laugh, to just live and have a future. For a mother, there is nothing more painful than realizing your child's life depends on money you just do not have. My dear, kind people, I beg you from the bottom of my heart, help us bring Gabriela back to a normal life. Any help, even the most modest donation or a simple share, is a huge step toward my girl's recovery and a true ray of light for our family.
