Mariana's message:

Hello, I'm Mariana Jikova. I'm 41, married, and have two boys aged 14 and 10. I'm a pharmacist, and for years I spent my time helping others stay healthy. I never imagined I'd ever be in a position where I have to ask for help to save my own life.

Last August, after going through some medical checks, doctors found a tumor in my right breast. Sadly, the initial diagnosis was wrong, so for months I didn't get the right tests or the treatment I actually needed.

In February, feeling that something wasn't right, I went to an oncologist on my own. The biopsy confirmed our worst fear: an aggressive form of breast cancer. After consulting specialists and a medical board in Romania, I began chemotherapy. Right now, I'm on my second treatment stage, and the good news is that the tumor is shrinking and responding well. That's the hope I cling to every single day.

So far, my family has managed all the expenses with the help of relatives, friends, and kindhearted people. We've made it through almost all of the chemo, but the hardest part is coming up: a major surgery that has to be done very soon after treatment finishes.

Doctors recommend a full mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, plus another necessary procedure. Because of my health condition, this surgery cannot be put off. If we miss this window, everything we've done so far could go to waste, and I might have to start chemotherapy all over again.

We've completely run through all our savings and resources. We did everything we possibly could on our own, but the cost of the surgery and treatment is way beyond what our family can afford.

That's why today I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to help me hold on to this chance. Every donation, every share, and every single prayer brings me closer to the operation, to healing, and to the day I can finally go back home to my kids.
