Friends! Only together we can help Alex Boboc. His mother died on November 4th. He is alone and terminally ill. But we can still save this young man.
The problem with Alex is that he slowly collapses, his muscles are destroyed by Duchenne's muscular dystrophy. The disease cause him a great deal of pain, but he continues to smile and be brave.
Alex is 19 years old and usually young men with Duchenne muscular dystrophy rarely live up to 20 years.
Alex still holds, but the disease is very insidious. The young man is slowly collapsing. There is still no treatment for this illness. But there are medicines that can support his body. They are very expensive.
The medicine that could help Alex is called ETHEPLERSEN and Sarepta Therapeutics is the company that produces it.
Now he takes an expensive drug called Deflazocort, as well as other medications. But they only make the disease progress more slowly, while ETEPLIRSEN can put him on his feet.
Alex wants to play football, to have a family ... His mother, Valeria Bobocel, dedicated her life to saving her son and find the cure. Unfortunately it didn’t happen. Together they dreamed that someday they would have their own house with two entrances: for Alex to look after their mother, but respect her private space, and for his mother to help him raise her grandchildren. Alex and his mom believed that they would live a happy and long life.
This dream of Alex can not be fulfilled. But all of us, together, can help Alex live on. He can still be saved! We would like to thank everyone involved in this campaign!
