Dorin Botezatu is a wonderful and patient child. We, Vitalie and Rodica, his parents, call on all people of good will to give us a helping hand. Dorin reached 15 years of age and his biggest dream is to walk next to his brother again. It all started when he was just over one year old. He was diagnosed with infantile paralysis of the brain, spastic tetraparesis, psychomotor retardation. Subsequently, the doctors identified a serious disability. We didn't wanted to believe that this terrible disease would defeat us, we always fought against it and never stopped believing that in the end we will defeat it. Dorin until he was two, could not speak, from the age of 3 he began to crawl, walked on his toes and had a high muscle tone. Since then, much has been done, with the help of the family and with the help of people with good hearts. Our son was very patient and could withstand kinetotherapy, which is very painful, but, unfortunately, he still cannot move without help. Despite this, he keeps his pain and his emotions to himself, because he understands that this is the only way to defeat this disease and to walk again. Despite the diagnosis, and on being in a wheelchair, Dorin is a sociable and cheerful child.We searched for a long time, and we managed to find a solution that would help us find the treatment. On September 20, 2017, together with Dorin, we went to the prosthetic clinic Rahm Zentrum für Gesundheit GmbH in Troisdorf, Germany, and made some medical examinations to find out if RGO orthosis (a reciprocal orthosis for walking) are suitable for our son. The answer was positive. These orthosis simulate the walking and trajectory of a healthy human leg, and after a daily walk for 1-2 years, the deformed bones of the feet, lower extremities and the pelvis return to normal. This will allow the child to learn how to maintain the balance and move around without support.

To ease the pain of using the orthosis, that are due to be made soon, on June 1, 2016, we went to the Acibadem Kozyatagi Hastanasi clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, where we performed a selective dorsal rhizotomy of the central nervous system of the spine (we spent approximately 22,814 dollars (66756,61 Turkish lira)), and we managed to reduce spasticity in the body of the child.

Orthoses are vital for the child. Dorin urgently needs them, because after post-surgical rehabilitation, which can take up to 18 months, these orthosis are very necessary. Without them, over time his condition will worsen, and the surgery he underwent will become useless.

The cost of orthosis manufacturing is 14247 euros and we simply cannot collect this amount of money. I would like to appeal to all people with kind hearts who understand the pain that we have been experiencing for 15 years and ask everyone to join us and help Dorin.
