A message from his mom:

I have an only child, Nikita. He is 12 years old. He is an autistic boy—bright, kind, and joyful. A child who sees the world in his own beautiful way. And now, on top of all the hurdles we have faced together, life has hit us with something no parent should ever have to hear. Nikita was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. From that moment on, my life split in two: before the diagnosis and after.

Now we are in Israel, and treatment is underway. Nikita is staying brave, his blood work is good, his body is responding to the therapy, and the doctors tell us his chances of recovery are high. For a mother, those words mean everything.

But the treatment is long and very expensive.

The clinic's initial estimate is 120,000 dollars. Out of that amount, we have already managed to raise and pay roughly 60,000 dollars out of our own pockets, with help from family and friends.

We gave everything we had. We searched for funds everywhere. We did everything a family could possibly do for their child.

But the road isn't over yet.

We still need another 60,000 dollars or so for Nikita to keep going with his treatment, and costs may rise along the way.

And this is where I feel completely powerless: knowing that treatment exists, knowing my son is responding to it, knowing the doctors are giving us hope… yet staring at a sum of money I have no way of coming up with.

I am begging you from the bottom of my heart, help me keep from having to stop my child's fight because of money.

I am not asking for the impossible.

I dream of the day we walk out of the hospital and go HOME. To see Nikita back in his room, to hear him laugh, to get back to our simple life—something I would trade anything to have back right now.

Please, if you can, help us.

Any donation, every share, every prayer can bring us one step closer to the day I can hold my son in my arms and say, "We made it."

Am citit cu lacrimi in ochi mesajul mamei lui Nichita.  Un copil luminos, un copil care duce lumea in felul lui, prin autism, si acum, peste toate provocarile prin care a trecut, duce o lupta care nu ar trebui sa apartina niciunui copil: leucemia.

Mama lui ne-a trimis imagini din spital. Nikita pe pat, inconjurat de perfuzii, de aparate, de acel alb rece de spital… iar in jurul lui o mama care incearca sa fie tare. Il priveste. Il incurajeaza. Ii spune ca va fi bine, dar numai Dumnezeu stie cate lacrimi inghite ea(((... Mamele pot aproape tot. Pot sa nu doarma. Pot sa uite de ele. Pot sa-si rupa sufletul in bucati si tot sa zambeasca pentru copilul lor. Dar nu pot face un singur lucru,  nu pot transforma singure 60.000 de dolari in tratament.

Familia a dat deja tot ce a avut. Aproximativ 60.000 de dolari au fost achitati din propriile resurse, cu ajutorul rudelor si prietenilor. Dar drumul lui Nikita continua si mai sunt necesari aproximativ 60.000 de dolari.

Dragii nostri, cat de mult ne-am dori ca niciun copil sa nu stie ce inseamna durerea unei boli. Dar atunci cand viata unui copil ajunge sa depinda de ajutorul celor din jur, haideti sa alegem sa fim noi acel ajutor. Sa fim speranta unei mame care sta langa patul copilului ei si se roaga. Sa fim linistea ei pentru o zi.
