Marius’s message:

On 28th of March, me and a couple of my friends are going to run one of the hardest marathons on the planet. 42km of running on a frozen lake in Norway, on 80cm layer of ice, -10degrees Celcius, the catch is that we will do it with less than 1 month of preparation, every runner friend of ours told us this is stupid, and that the risk of injury is pretty much 100%.

Why we are doing this.

We are running this race to help raise money for underprivileged kids in Moldova. Moldova is the poorest country in Europe, where 1 out 3 kids lives in absolute poverty : not even money for food, no proper shelter, no medical care, no clothes.

For these kids is not even about the money, it is about the fact that they are living a life where hope is not even a thing. I want to show them that there are people that care about them, and that they have a future no matter the circumstances they were born into.

I decided to partner up with Caritate.md since they have been doing this since 2010, and I have trusted sources to know all the money that is being donated will actually get to those kids. For most of you that will read this, if someone stole $500 from your account, you would not even notice it, for some of these families $500 is 3-4 months of food supply.

Let’s create an impact in these kids life

The impact we can create together:

$5,000 – can change the lives of hundreds of children from villages forgotten by the world. For them, this amount means food, clothes, hygiene products, and the feeling that someone, somewhere, cares about them.

$10,000 – can transform the lives of children living in disability care centers. It means better beds, hygiene products, equipment, and more dignified conditions for children who already face a difficult battle every single day. It means a slightly easier life for them and for those who take care of them.

$20,000 – can bring real change to many villages in Moldova. Families with many children who live in extreme hardship can receive constant support for at least half a year — food, essential supplies, and help that brings stability to lives full of uncertainty.

Every kilometer we run on the ice is for these children.

But real change can only happen together.
